The station of Metz was inaugurated in 1908 by the German imperial Department of the Railroads of Alsace-Lorraine. Both previous stations were respectively built in 1850 and 1878\. Œuvre of the Berlin architect Jürgen Kröger, this monumental building is built in sandstone of Niderviller in a Rhenish neo-Romanic style.
