Visit proposed by Avignon Tourisme as part of the European Heritage Days 2023
Since 1947 and the creation of the Festival de théâtre d'Avignon by Jean Vilar, the city has become the largest theatre in the world every July. For 3 weeks, more than 1,500 shows are offered per day and the theatrical adventures are multiple and varied.
With this guided tour, follow in the footsteps of this long and incredible love story that links Avignon and the sixth art. This attachment is much older than it seems and the heritage and trompe l'oeil paintings (by Marion Pochy and Dominique Durand) spread throughout the city will prove it. They will make you relive the highlights of this beautiful theatrical romance.
Duration of the visit: 1h45
Arrive 15 minutes before departure. In case of no-show 15 minutes before departure, the speaker will wait another 5 minutes. 10 minutes before departure, registration will be lost and will be offered to people who come on site without registration. Each visit is limited to 20 participants.
