Description

Accompanied by a nature guard, discover the geological and biological heritage of the Sainte-Victoire nature reserve. For a 5 km hike, take the time to admire the Cézanne landscape and discover its secrets.

  • 1st visit: Sunday 17 September, departure at 9 am
  • 2nd visit: Sunday 17 September, departure at 13:30
  • Hiking 5.5 km, 135 m D+.
  • Provide water, walking shoes, hat and snack if necessary.
  • Approximate duration: 2h30/ 3h according to the pace of walking.
  • Not accessible to people with disabilities.
  • In case of bad weather or fire risk, the hike will be cancelled (information communicated the day before for the next day).

The Sainte-Victoire Nature Reserve is a national geological nature reserve of 140 hectares located on the western foothills of the Sainte-Victoire mountain. It is managed by the Bouches-du-Rhône Department, which also owns it. It is a site known worldwide for its paleontological deposit with dinosaur eggs. A meeting place between the Alpine and Mediterranean domains, the reserve also contains an exceptional biological wealth linked to its biogeographic, geological and historical characteristics.
