A true jewel of Provençal architecture from the 18th century, the Hotel Estrine was built in 1748 to house the Headquarters of the Courts of the Princes of Monaco. It was completely restored in 1989 and awarded the Living Heritage Prize by the Fondation de France.
Since 2007, it has been home to the Estrine Museum, a young museum in France and has just benefited from a vast expansion and renovation program in 2014.
To pay tribute to Vincent van Gogh who lived in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence from May 8, 1889 to May 20, 1890, the Estrine Museum created a multimedia educational space dedicated to the life and work of the painter.
The Vincent van Gogh Interpretation Centre allows visitors to (re)discover the human and artistic journey of this exceptional personality and its influence on the creation of the 20th and 21st century.
