From the gates of Paris to Normandy, the photographic observatory of the landscapes of the Seine Francilien valley runs along 130 kilometres of river and, with the islands, nearly 400 kilometres of banks. From the limestone slopes of Vexin to the emergences of La Défense, from highways saturated in thick towpaths, between industrial ports and wild bathing, the framings of Ambroise Tézenas and Jérémie Léon reach the landscape as one touches the essential.
The observatory has 111 images collected in the landscapes of the Seine downstream of Paris, between Issy-les-Moulineaux and the Moisson loop. They were discussed, analysed, commented on and sorted among more than 400 photographs taken between 2020 and 2022, leading to the selection presented in Nanterre. The exhibition shows, in the form of large-format prints, projections, films and interviews, the production of this particular collection.
