The Niederhergheim History Society offers you to discover again the symbolism of the sculptures on the old funerary monuments.

She will also take the opportunity to pay tribute to the former personalities of the village as well as certain events related to this new cemetery opened in 1839.
Explanatory panels will be set up on Saturday 17 September and guided tours will be organised on Sunday 18 in the afternoon.

The communal cemetery of Niederhergheim represents a historical, artistic and social heritage by its harmony and the richness of certain burials which are real works of art. Both give the place its special character and make the price.A witness of a cultural and identity heritage, it evolves, changes and diversifies.
Aware of its riches, the municipality of Niederhergheim today wishes to value them and give back to its cemetery a true identity. To do this, several operations have already been carried out and are still in progress, in order to revive the numerous burials which, over time, have been abandoned by ignorance of the families or after their extinction.
