Église Notre-Dame-en-son-Assomption
Rue Emile Giros, 52100 Saint-Dizier

Built in 1202 by Gui II de Dampierre in primary ogival style, the church served as observation post and as defence during the seat(siege) of 1544; four cannonballs sealed on his(her, its) tower testify it. The building will be destroyed to a great extent during the fire of 1775 and rebuilt in classic style. The church shelters many curiosity: sideboard(buffet) of organ established by Cavaillé-Coll, inaugurated by Camille Saint-Saëns, the stained-glass window of the martyred bishop "saint Dizier", a sculptor of the XVth and XVIth centuries, of whom a restored entombment.
