Concert, "Music Puts Us On",

by the Municipal Harmony of Wimereux

In Wimereux, with the partnership of the City, for the European Heritage Days 2021, the Association of Friends of the Church has federated local associations for the valorization of the Heritage (civil, religious, military) to invite you to look up at the VIADUCT and to look at the construction of the railway track in Wimille, with its STATION, which was the decisive element in the genesis of the seaside resort of WIMEREUX (currently classified Remarkable Heritage Site). An independent urbanization of Wimille was created, with its city center, around its CHURCH (currently closed due to restoration).
For this occasion, Jean-François Aubel, at the head of the Municipal Harmony of Wimereux, invites us to get on his musical train for an hour of relaxation, and allow us to get out of our daily train, with a musical repertoire on the railway theme.
Municipal Harmony
Founded in 1907, the Municipal Band Orchestra of Wimereux, currently has about thirty amateur musicians. It is currently under the chairmanship and direction of Mr Jean-François AUBEL.
The life of the orchestra is punctuated by several concerts in the year on the Boulonnais but also outside. He is called to perform during the cultural exchange of twinning in Herne-bay in England and Schmallenberg in Germany.
The orchestra also participates in commemorative ceremonies and local life events.
Today the repertoire is evolving, with the aim of opening up to a new audience and enriching the diversity of its musical repertoire.
