About the venue
The university palace of Strasbourg, familiarly called «palace u», is a building(ship) of style neo-Renaissance, builds between 1879 and 1884 conducted by the architect Otto Warth and inaugurated by the emperor Guillaume Ier of Prussia in 1884\. This building establishes(constitutes) the major pole(centre) of the new university of Strasbourg during the annexation of Alsace-Lorraine in German Empire, in 1871, replacing the French university stemming from the Gymnasium Jean-Sturm in 1538.
