Château de la Roche Foulques was built by Foulques III Nerra. Near the castle, outside the enclosure, had been founded in 1158 by Foulques de Cleers, a chapel in honor of the True Cross of which a plot was deposited there. A foundation had been made, for the exhibition on certain days in the chapel, of the relic of the True Cross. It was kept in a double cross-over reliquary, in gold and vermeillé silver. The relic is in the parish church of Soucelles. The chapel, sacristy and cemetery were sold nationally in the year XII. (September 2, 1796). Purchased by M. Charles Cousin de Briderais, they became the property of M. Boreau de Roincé in 1878\. After the death of Guillaume Bodinier, the chapel returned by succession to Petigny’s family.
