The ancient Jewish cemetery preserves 200 steles, the oldest of which would date from the 17th century. It has been listed as a historic monument since 2016.
The visits will bring a special look on the children’s square: the Jewish epitaph of the 19th century sees a rise of spirtuality and erudition.
Among these epitaphs, those of children -whose mortality was enormous- evoke a special affection through a touching iconography.

The main facade of the synagogue is endowed with an ornamental programme, which gets organised around bays(berries) trained(formed) by two small geminated windows shape of which calls back(reminds) the tables of Law, while the inside of the building is adorned with mosaics. The mikvé is dug in the ground, he is covered with a paving which was put on a structure in pink sandstone. Harmed by gunfire during the World War I, then filled in, it was rediscovered in 2014, further to archaeological excavations(searches).
The members of the Association of the Amis de la Synagogue of Thann threw(launched) a prescription to collect(harvest) the necessary bottoms to end the restoration(catering) of vaults (begun in 2014) and to restore the missing stained-glass windows. Three kept(preserved) glass roofs whom it is possible to discover on the first floor, on the forum(stand), give a good overview of the remarkable quality of this art deco set(group). The synagogue, the mikvé, the cloakroom(changing room) and the railing(bar) on street are entirely registered in conformance with(for) historic monuments, the house of the rabbi is registered in conformance with(for) monument history for its facades and roofing by order of December 20th, 2016.
