Matrimoine Days: Discovering Alsatian women
Whether they are artists, religious, scientists, lavandières or teachers, Alsatian women have marked their time. Let’s walk in their footsteps and together discover our matrimoine!
With this visit discover or rediscover the city of Strasbourg through the history of Alsatian women! This tour through the city center will allow you to discover extraordinary women such as Adélaide Hautval, deported to Auschwitz and recognized "Just among the nations"; Louise Scheppler, inventor of kindergarten or Katia Krafft, volcanologist carried away by a fiery cloud on the slopes of Mount Unzen in Japan.
Often invisibilized by history and in the public space, let us reveal together on this occasion the legacy left by these women: our matrimoine.
Visiting hours: Friday at 2pm - Saturday and Sunday at 10am and 2pm.
Meet in front of the University Library, 6 Place de la République in Strasbourg. Spot the white flags "Dare Feminism".
The visit is free, goodies will be sold at the end of the visit to support the association.
