Public exhibition on life in Anse, Villefranche and Beaujolais between 1939 and 1945 through letters, newspapers, clothing, logbooks, photos and objects: the exhibition retraces among others the requisitions, Occupation, daily life and restrictions until the bombing of Anse and its Liberation. The exhibition also offers a focus on the school, games and occupations of children during the conflict in Beaujolais. From Friday 28 August to Sunday 20 September 2020 included.

In this old farm, the first constructions date from the fifteenth century with a dovecote and staircases. The other buildings, including barns, date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The main house as it now stands was built in 1863\. It is in this ensemble that our museum, which deals with war 14-18, was installed. In the first room you can follow the daily life of a family whose son is at the front. You will live with the long-awaited visits of the postman and the correspondence, the offensives and the movements of young Private Joannes. In the second room you will be immersed in the daily life of those who remain behind the front, in the villages and make the country live. You’ll see which trades are going down because of the lack of male labour and which ones are going up. You will understand how the war, by killing men, leaves women alone in heavy tasks and in often very difficult financial situations. The visit ends with an immersion in the harsh reality of the soldiers. You w
