“And the wolf ate the grandmother.” Conference on children’s literature from the late 19th century to the 1960s. The big collections, the birth of the comic strip, the children’s newspapers. The conference will recall the decisive role played at the end of the 19th century by major publishers (Hetzel and Hachette in particular). It will then focus on showing the decisive role of newspapers for children who witness a society and its divisions.
