Cemetery The Jewish Cemetery located in Metz-Chambière contains thousands of Jewish burials and it since the environment(middle) of the XVIIIth century. He(It) is an integral part of Jewish heritage, both on historic plan and member of a religious order. More old(former) cemeteries existed, closer to the city(estate), today missing. In front of the old(former) cemetery, the current is where the first burials took place in 1973\. Hévra Kadicha Selon an immemorial use(custom), inspired by a profound respect due to the deceased, the body must undergo a said dress(toilet) of purification (Tahara) before any burial. This one is made by the members of Hévra Kadicha, men(people) or women, volunteers, always available and in any discretion. Hévra Kadicha and the Community are at the disposal of people who do researches(searches) in this commemorative site.
