On the September 1th, 1939, about 400 000 Alsaciens-Mosellans living along German border is evacuated by French authorities, towards the southwest of France. The minors(miners) of coal of the Lorraine coal basin know quite a different destiny and are managed towards the mining departments of Pas-de-Calais, of the Loire, of Saône-et-Loire or to a lesser extent, from the Tarn. It is this internal banishment which exhibition(exposure) suggests telling.
