This museum suggests you discovering the history(story) of the old(former) Hôtel-Dieu of Hautefort: place of welcome(reception) of the sick based(established) by the marquess Jacques-François of Hautefort in 1669. This building of a big(great) religious symbolism is recognised historical monument. It consists of a chapel in the centre with four rooms training(forming) a Greek cross.
On the first floor, you will discover to it 4 rooms devoted to pharmacy, dentistry, medicine, surgery and temporary exhibition(exposure) on the reconstruction of the human body.

The Hôtel-Dieu of Hautefort in Périgord was based(established) in the XVIIth century by the marquess Jacques François de Hautefort, for the period of imprisonment, under the reign of Louis XIV, "to welcome the poor people and to bring them the help of catholic religion". The building(ship), in Greek cross, shelters a museum of history(story) of medicine. The ground floor is devoted to the history(story) of this place: presentation(display) of a reconstructed room of sick, of set(group) of liturgical clothes and of liturgical objects of the XIXth century and the chapel. On the first floor, four rooms allow to include the evolution of pharmacy, dentistry, medicine and surgery.
