The castle of Vanguard was built at the beginning of the XIVth century to protect the lands of the count of Bar facing territory of the duke of Lorraine. Taken and burnt in 1406, it is restored then becomes a residence for the close friends(relations) of the dukes of Lorraine. It will be destroyed in 1635 by the royal armies and not raised(found) any more. The vestiges of the castle were then brought out(loosened) from 1981 till 1989.
Commented visit: 20 people in groups of visit.
Pedestrianized access up to the castle, difficult for the people with reduced mobility. Plan(Provide for) adapted shoes, neither heels, nor sandals.
