Old(Former) summer residence of the family Light (inventors of the cinema), this sumptuous villa of French classic style inspired by Renaissance, became the town hall in 1927. The decoration of the building(ship) was inspired by the architect genevois Paul Pélissier. It is possible to see monumental one there bronze retort(replica) of the thinker de Michelangelo at the edge of the external terrace and two retorts(replicas) of the atlases of Puget at the entrance(admission) street Clermont. Indoors, a superb bronze lioness always defends(forbids) the access of the monumental staircase in oak, work of the artist of Lyon Pascal Devaux. The town hall also kept(preserved) the golden Lounge(Show), where celebrate marriages. Curtains in damask of yellow silk and golds of panels make up(compose) an extremely beautiful set(group).

The villa Light of Evian-les-Bains dates the end of the XIXth century. Works began in 1885 under the direction of the architect Moille. This house had to become the residence of a rich owner. This one dies during works and the villa is incomplete in 1887\. It is bought by Antoine Lumière in 1896 to become its summer residence. Antoine Lumière is first a portrait painter installed(settled) in Besançon. After the war of 1870 he(it) settles down in Lyons and becomes photographer of political and artistic world of Lyon. He encourages his two sons(threads) Louis and Augustus Lumière to work on the invention of the cinematograph. It transforms this building(ship) into house defecated at the request of its threads(wires). Since 1927, the villa Light shelters the town hall of Evian-les-Bains. It is first Antoine Charhe, architect genevois, and Charles Pélissier, decorator, that took care of the construction site(work). Then new plans were realised by the firm of architects genevois Knight from 1896\. It is a villa in pompous style with a facade of neoclassical style and preceded of a large terrace with baluster with a view of the Lake Léman. Above the low door they find a bronze monumental retort(replica) of the thinker of Michel angel. The main entrance is framed(supervised) by two retorts(replicas) of the atlases of Puget which adorn the town hall of Toulon. The lounge(show) of honour, today become the room of marriages, presents big(great) classic chandeliers(lusters) and the adorned wooden furniture.
