For a long time, the Schools of Fine Arts remained inaccessible to women, and even when they had the opportunity to enter, "nude classes" were strictly forbidden to them. Despite these moral and societal obstacles, women artists have been able to overcome these constraints to appropriate, divert and reinvent this subject -or even make it their battlehorse, in full swing of modernity.
A major figure in the current feminist and artistic debate, the Palais des Beaux-Arts invites Camille Morineau, art historian and co-founder of the association AWARE: Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions, who is committed to raising awareness of the works of women artists and restoring their place in art history. As General Curator of the pioneering exhibition "Elles@centrepompidou" in 2009, she helped to highlight these talents that are often overlooked in France.

Pendant longtemps, les Ecoles des Beaux-Arts sont demeurées inaccessibles aux femmes, et même lorsqu'elles ont eu l'opportunité d'y entrer, les "classes de nu" leur étaient strictement interdites. Malgré ces obstacles moraux et sociétaux, les artistes femmes ont su contourner ces contraintes pour s'approprier, détourner et réinventer ce sujet -voire en faire leur cheval de bataille, en plein essor de la modernité.
Figure majeure du débat féministe et artistique actuelle, le Palais des Beaux-Arts invite Camille Morineau, historienne de l'art et co-fondatrice de l’association AWARE : Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions, qui s’engage à faire mieux connaître les œuvres des artistes femmes et à rétablir leur place au sein de l'histoire de l'art. En tant que commissaire générale de l'exposition pionnière "Elles@centrepompidou" en 2009, elle a contribué à mettre en lumière ces talents souvent méconnus en France.

Lange tijd bleven de Scholen voor schone Kunsten ontoegankelijk voor vrouwen, en zelfs toen ze de mogelijkheid hadden om mee te doen, waren "naaktklassen" voor hen strikt verboden. Ondanks deze morele en maatschappelijke obstakels zijn vrouwelijke kunstenaars erin geslaagd deze beperkingen te overwinnen om dit onderwerp op passende wijze te behandelen, af te leiden en opnieuw uit te vinden - of zelfs hun slagpaard te maken, in volle gang van de moderniteit.
Het Palais des Beaux-Arts, een belangrijke figuur in het huidige feministische en artistieke debat, nodigt Camille Morineau uit, kunsthistoricus en medeoprichter van de vereniging BEWUST: archieven van Vrouwenkunstenaars, Onderzoek en Exposities, die zich inzetten om de bekendheid van de werken van vrouwelijke kunstenaars te vergroten en hun plaats in de kunstgeschiedenis te herstellen. Als algemeen curator van de baanbrekende tentoonstelling "Elles@centrepompidou" in 2009 hielp ze deze talenten te benadrukken die in Frankrijk vaak over het hoofd worden gezien.
