Today, the tango is (almost) everywhere, but much of its history is surprising, to say the least. Famines, exiles, dictatorships, escapes and returns, wealth accumulation, individual actions, and chance events. Discover the people and events—often unlikely—that shaped the tango’s journey to becoming a global phenomenon.
