The European Metropolis of Lille is associated with the Impressionist Spring which celebrates the 150 years of the first «impressionist exhibition» presented in Paris in 1874. The MEL Archives has a historical library of more than 2000 works. Among them, Jean Clay_’s Impressionism_, which will allow you to learn more about this artistic movement that revolutionized painting in the nineteenth century.
