Curator of the exhibition and honorary chief curator of British art at the Tate Britain, art historian known for his expertise in 18th- and 19th-century British painting, David Blayney-Brown has devoted much of his career to studying, the conservation and enhancement of this heritage. During this meeting, he will discuss the design of the exhibition, the scientific choices that guided its development as well as the research issues that fueled this project.
This meeting will be an opportunity to discover the behind-the-scenes of the exhibition and deepen the understanding of the works presented through the eyes of a leading specialist.

Commissaire de l’exposition et conservateur en chef honoraire de l’art britannique à la Tate Britain, historien de l’art reconnu pour son expertise de la peinture britannique des XVIIIᵉ et XIXᵉ siècles, David Blayney-Brown a consacré une grande partie de sa carrière à l’étude, à la conservation et à la valorisation de ce patrimoine. Lors de cette rencontre, il reviendra sur la conception de l’exposition, les choix scientifiques qui ont guidé son élaboration ainsi que les enjeux de recherche qui ont nourri ce projet.
Cette rencontre sera l’occasion de découvrir les coulisses de l’exposition et d’approfondir la compréhension des œuvres présentées à travers le regard d’un spécialiste de premier plan.

Curator van de tentoonstelling en erehoofd curator van de Britse kunst bij Tate Britain, kunsthistoricus bekend om zijn expertise in de Britse schilderkunst in de 18e en 19e eeuw, David Blayney-Brown heeft veel van zijn carrière gewijd aan studie, het behoud en de verbetering van dit erfgoed. Tijdens deze bijeenkomst bespreekt hij het ontwerp van de tentoonstelling, de wetenschappelijke keuzes die leidden bij de ontwikkeling ervan en de onderzoekskwesties die dit project voedden.
