Performances by the Varia Choir in May 2026
The Varia choir has existed since the year 2000. This female vocal ensemble was first directed by its creator, Colette Bronner, then from 2012, by Jacqueline Savoyant, a qualified choir director.
Varia's repertoire encompasses works for equal voices, from diverse origins, periods, and styles, whether it be classical, sacred or secular music, with instrumental accompaniment or a cappella. Under the impetus of its current director, a place is regularly offered to this latter mode of expression, because she likes to work on the listening and unity of voices that it requires. Jacqueline also takes the liberty of leading the choir into the realm of jazz.
For its performance at the 175th anniversary of the municipality of Plan-les-Ouates, the Varia choir will present baroque works by G.F. Handel and H. Purcell accompanied on piano by Bérangère Mathieu and jazz works by the Swiss composer Jérôme Berney, accompanied by a jazz trio including the composer.
These concerts will take place on Saturday, May 30th at 8 p.m. at the Bernex parish center and on May 31st at 2 p.m. at the Plan-les-Ouates community hall. Details are on the poster.

Prestations du Choeur Varia en mai 2026
Le Chœur Varia existe depuis l’an 2000. Cet ensemble vocal féminin a d’abord été dirigé par sa créatrice, Colette Bronner, puis dès 2012 par Jacqueline Savoyant, directrice de chœur diplômée.
Le répertoire de Varia parcourt des œuvres pour voix égales, d’origine, d’époques et de style divers, que ce soit musique classique, sacrée ou profane, avec accompagnement instrumental ou parfois a capella. Sous l’impulsion de sa directrice actuelle, une place est régulièrement proposée à ce dernier mode d’expression, car elle aime travailler l’écoute et l’unité des voix que cela nécessite. Jacqueline se permet également d’entraîner le chœur à sa suite sur le terrain du jazz.
Pour sa prestation au 175e anniversaire de la commune de Plan-les-Ouates, le chœur Varia présentera des œuvres baroques de G.F. Haendel et de H. Purcell accompagnées au piano par Bérangère Mathieu et des œuvres jazz du compositeur suisse Jérôme Berney, accompagnées par un trio-jazz incluant le compositeur.
Ces concerts auront lieu le 30 mai 2026 à 20h au centre paroissial de Bernex et le 31 mai 2026 à 14h à la salle communale de Plan-les-Ouates. Les détails figurent sur l'affiche.
