Discover the work of artist Cornelia Hesse-Honegger at the heart of the "Être(s) ensemble" exhibition and take part in an exceptional workshop in the presence of the artist!
The artist will present her work on display at MEG. This will be followed by a workshop in which she will share with you her techniques, her struggles and her love for the subjects she draws and paints.
Born into a family of Swiss artists, Cornelia Hesse-Honegger sees painting as a way of exploring the world. She can spend months drawing and painting a single bug. She collects and studies the insects themselves and travels to places irradiated by our nuclear facilities. Cornelia restores all the biological and phenomenological richness of her objects, the gesture of her hand allowing her to plunge deep into living, shimmering matter and render it in a profound way. Whether capturing specimens in the tall grass of meadows, observing them under the microscope or painting them, her commitment is a political act that brings us closer to the animal and the consequences of our actions.
This event takes place on the first Sunday of the month, so it's free, but you'll need to register beforehand as places are limited.

A day at the museum to "think and act" on the climate emergency. Sunday 3 December from 10.15am to 6pm.
Through this series of 'think and act' events, we hope to help you tackle the issue of climate change through the prism of MEG's specific characteristics. By tackling themes such as care, repair, food, clothing and the transmission of knowledge and know-how, we want to make the impact that our everyday actions can have on the environment more perceptible, and thus question our relationship with it.
By working with you and people who are active and committed to climate and environmental issues, and by interviewing experts, artists, representatives of indigenous peoples, craftspeople and creative people, we are offering you a programme of activities that provide practical tools for action and reflection, accessible and useful to everyone.
At this event, we'll be looking at the important question of how we care for our environment. Our way of observing it, studying it and getting to know it, and consequently our way of looking after it.
