#5 : Sublime disaster
For one weekend, the Natural History Museum of Geneva invites you to discover the backstage of the art & science residency Rendez-nous la beauté by Bernard Garo. Performances, installations, concerts, dialogues, projections... A multitude of artistic forms to reflect the state of glaciers, these natural entities both powerful and fragile, now threatened by humans and climate change. In the company of the artist and his guests, embark on a poetic, visual and sound expedition.
Saturday March 4th
Exhibition room, 3rd floor
>> 10:30 am - Installations Glaciers and Les Mains, ephemeral and evolving device over one day, presented by Bernard Garo, visual artist and Joan Francesc Ainaud, curator and art critic - Screenings of the films Sublime Disaster, 1000 years under the ice, For a long time and exchange with B. Garo and J. F. Ainaud.
>> 11:30 am - Dialogue with the scientists of the Museum who participated in the residency: Nicolas Greber, geologist, André Piuz, micropalaeontologist, Laurent Valloton, ornithologist and Bernard Garo.
>> 12:10 pm - 5D scanner technology used in the production of Bernard Garo's films, presented by Loïc Baboulaz, creator and CTO of ArtMyn.
>> 1:40 pm - Guided tour of the Bernard Garo exhibition and presentation of the triptych The Vanities by Joan Francesc Ainaud, curator and art critic.
>> 2pm - Performances: live drawing by Bernard Garo, concert by saxophonist Eric Fischer, readings by actor François Chattot and projections - Performance Frottements transversaux inspired by the text Né du Rocher by Ramuz.
>> 3:20 pm - Screenings of the films 1000 ans sous la glace and Sublime Désastre.
>> 3:35 pm - Installation Les Mains, evolution of the work commented by Bernard Garo and Joan Francesc Ainaud, curator and art critic.

>> 4pm - Opening of Bernard Garo's residency, in the presence of Arnaud Maeder, director of the Museum.
Sunday March 5th
Conference room, 2nd floor
>> 11am - Screening and discussion of the films Crevasse, Sublime Désastre, 1000 ans sous la glace and Pendant longtemps with Bernard Garo and Marc Décosterd, co-directors, Loïc Perez, guide and geologist, Jérémie Gentizon, guide and glaciologist, Hugo Beguin, guide and mountaineering cameraman and Philippe Wagneur, drone pilot and photographer.

>> 12:15 pm - Degradation, presentation of the 5D scanner technology by Loïc Baboulaz, creator and CTO of ArtMyn, and of his video work on degradation.
>> 2pm - Guided tour of Bernard Garo's exhibition and presentation of the installation Sublime désastre by Joan Francesc Ainaud, curator and art critic.
