PLAYGROUND brings together, in two interconnected rooms covering 250 m2, a contemporary collection of freely accessible artists’ games and an education space dedicated to outreach activities. All year long, an activity program led by experienced facilitators, free and accessible to all, will offer playful encounters with art.

At the heart of this space is a collection of games created by artists and designed to be played by everyone, from the very youngest. The aim of this initiative is to offer an artistic experience through sensitive exploration. The first episode, inaugurated at the end of October 2023, featured proposals by Rasheed Araeen, Vidya Gastaldon, Stéphanie Probst, Neide Sá, Denis Savary, Alexia Turlin and Galaxia Wang.

After a summer shutdown, a new episode will be inaugurated on Tuesday September 3 at 6pm. To mark the occasion, four new games will be unveiled to the Geneva public:
- Code Set by Pinaffo-Pluvinage
- PlayFlux by Computed.By
- L’art et ma carière by Olivia Hernaïz
- Utopop by Marion Bataille and Fanny Millard

PLAYGROUND* acts as a bridge between the exhibitions and the audiences of the MAMCO, the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, and the Centre de la photographie Genève. It also serves as a space for their respective education programs, designed in parallel with the exhibitions. Both educational and fun, these moments will foster creation, sharing and learning, and enrich and nurture the outreach programs of the Bâtiment d’Art Contemporain (BAC).

PLAYGROUND is opened every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday (11 am - 6 pm).

This new exhibition space, located on the ground floor of the building, is a joint project of the MAMCO, the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, and the Centre de la photographie Genève.
