This year again, the Orchestre National de Lille travels the roads of the Lille metropolis by offering
an accessible classical and romantic music program: so-called "youth" symphonies, Schubert’s Symphony No. 5 is a marvel of elegance,
of transparency and grace.
Almost contemporary, Symphony 8 is the work
Beethoven’s most concise and lightest. Again, classicism shines brightly, unfolding,
a dazzling vitality and inventiveness. Winner of the
very prestigious International Cadaqués Competition, the
Nuno Coehlo proposes, as a prelude to these two
classical masterpieces, an overture by Mendelssohn, evoking a bewitching fantasy legend.
