Es war das einzige industrielle Überbleibsel des Kalksteinabbaus in der Region Ile-de-France im 19. Jahrhundert und ermöglichte es, aus dem 35 m tiefen unterirdischen Steinbruch Steinblöcke von 4 bis 8 Tonnen zu bergen. Es besteht aus zwei großen Steinhaufen, auf denen eine Trommel zum Aufwickeln des Kabels ruht. Die Trommel wird durch Zahnräder betätigt, die mit einem Karussell verbunden sind, auf dem ein Pferd sich bewegt, um die Blöcke hochzuziehen. Es wurde zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts eingestellt und wurde von der Vereinigung PICAR Mitglied der Union REMPART restauriert.

The only industrial vestige of the extraction of limestone in the Ile-de-France in the 19th century, it allowed to go up, from the underground quarry located at 35 m of depth, blocks of stone from 4 to 8 tons. It consists of two large stone piles on which rests a drum for winding the cable. The drum is driven by gears connected to a carousel on which a horse evolves to move the blocks. It ceased its activity at the beginning of the 20th century and was restored by the association PICAR member of the Union REMPART.
Guided tour: history of the exploitation of the building stone, method used for the extraction, demonstration of the tools used, operation of the winch with a horse, history of the restoration of the monument.

Unico vestigio industriale dell'estrazione della pietra calcarea nell'Ile-de-France nel XIX secolo, permetteva di risalire, dalla cava sotterranea situata a 35 m di profondità, blocchi di pietra da 4 a 8 tonnellate. È formato da due grandi pile di pietra sulle quali poggia un tamburo destinato all'avvolgimento del cavo. Il tamburo è azionato da ingranaggi collegati ad una giostra su cui un cavallo si evolve per rimontare i blocchi. Ha cessato la sua attività all'inizio del XX secolo ed è stato restaurato dall'associazione PICAR membro dell'Unione REMPART.

Unique vestige industriel de l'extraction de la pierre calcaire en Ile-de-France au XIXe siècle, il permettait de remonter, depuis la carrière souterraine située à 35 m de profondeur, des blocs de pierre de 4 à 8 tonnes. Il est formé de deux grandes piles de pierre sur lesquelles repose un tambour destiné à l'enroulement du câble. Le tambour est actionné par des engrenages reliés à un manège sur lequel un cheval évolue pour remonter les blocs. Il a cessé son activité au début du XXe siècle et a été restauré par l'association PICAR membre de l'Union REMPART.

Único vestigio industrial de la extracción de piedra caliza en Ile-de-France en el siglo XIX, permitía remontar, desde la cantera subterránea situada a 35 m de profundidad, bloques de piedra de 4 a 8 toneladas. Está formado por dos grandes pilas de piedra sobre las que descansa un tambor destinado al enrollamiento del cable. El tambor es accionado por engranajes conectados a un tiovivo en el que un caballo evoluciona para subir los bloques. Cesó su actividad a principios del siglo XX y fue restaurado por la asociación PICAR miembro de la Unión REMPART.
