Artothek, 1986 auf Initiative der Stadt Caen geboren, gehört zu den ersten Artotheken in Frankreich. Seit über 30 Jahren hat sie ihre Basis mit dem Willen gegründet, sich jeden Tag neu zu erfinden. Seit dem 14. September 2013 befindet sie sich an ihrem neuen Standort, dem Palast Ducal. Das Palais Ducal, das im 14. Jahrhundert erbaut und im Laufe der Jahrhunderte, insbesondere im 19. Jahrhundert, umgestaltet wurde, ist Eigentum der Stadt Caen, die vor dem ursprünglichen Eingang der Abtei den Menschen liegt, deren Gastgeber es wahrscheinlich war. Das von der Stadt Caen restaurierte Gebäude ist größtenteils seit Jahrzehnten unbewohnt und bietet der Arteothek, Räumlichkeiten für zeitgenössische Kunst, eine Fläche von 650 m2. Born in 1986 at the initiative of the city of Caen, Artothèque is one of the first art libraries in France. For more than 30 years, it has built its foundation with the will to reinvent itself every day. Since September 14, 2013, it is installed in its new site: the Ducal Palace. Built in the fourteenth century, then remodelled over the centuries, especially in the nineteenth, the Ducal Palace is a property of the city of Caen, located opposite the original entrance of the Abbey of Men, of which it probably welcomed the distinguished guests. Largely unoccupied for several decades, the building restored by the city of Caen, offers an area of 650 m2 to the art library, Spaces of contemporary art. Nata nel 1986 per iniziativa della città di Caen, l'Artoteca figura tra le prime artoteche in Francia. Per più di 30 anni, ha fondato la sua base con la volontà di reinventarsi ogni giorno. Dal 14 settembre 2013, è installata nel suo nuovo sito: il Palazzo Ducale. Costruito nel XIV secolo, poi rimaneggiato nel corso dei secoli, in particolare nel XIX, il Palazzo Ducale è una proprietà della città di Caen, situata di fronte all'ingresso originario dell'Abbazia degli Uomini, di cui probabilmente accoglieva gli ospiti di marca. In gran parte non occupato per diversi decenni, l'edificio restaurato dalla città di Caen, offre una superficie di 650 m2 per l'Artoteca, Spazi di arte contemporanea. Née en 1986 à l'initiative de la ville de Caen, l'Artothèque figure parmi les premières artothèques en France. Depuis plus de 30 ans, elle a fondé son assise avec la volonté de se réinventer chaque jour. Depuis le 14 septembre 2013, elle est installée dans son nouveau site : le Palais Ducal. Construit au XIVe siècle, puis remanié au cours des siècles, notamment au XIXe, le Palais Ducal est une propriété de la ville de Caen, située face à l’entrée originelle de l’Abbaye aux Hommes, dont elle accueillait probablement les hôtes de marque. En grande partie inoccupé depuis plusieurs décennies, le bâtiment restauré par la ville de Caen, offre une superficie de 650 m2 à l'artothèque, Espaces d'art contemporain.
