The project In Vincennes, this new wooden building is dressed with a brick facing, a dialogue between bio-based structure and classic urban materiality. Inside, the CLT floor remains visible, affirming the presence of wood even in living spaces. The mansard roof combines slate and zinc, while wood joinery completes a coherent envelope, from the shell to the finishes.
The company The company Herminette takes its name from the carpenter’s first tool. Invented in Mesopotamia, the adze is a woodworking tool that resembles the shape of an axe and notably makes it possible to square (or prune) wood. Historically, this tool has been used to build structures and has played a crucial role in the evolution of construction techniques towards more elaborate models. On the border between tradition and innovation, the adze symbolizes the values that the company Herminette wishes to convey: artisanal excellence, passion for wood and a commitment to sustainable construction solutions.
