A son and his mother travel to South America following the grandfather's traces to try to overcome an old family trauma. In their quest, they will be confronted with the violence of their heritage, linked to the Swiss grandfather's work in cocoa plantations. It's in the closed setting of their hotel room that the ambiguity of their relationship is revealed, opening the breach of a hallucinatory narrative. Little by little, this generational trip-movie transforms into a psycho-magical tale, crossed by intriguing characters and fantastic apparitions. A sensitive fictional journey that resonates with our intimate stories, our collective consciousness and the evocation of the colonization of the South American continent.

Un fils et sa mère partent en voyage en Amérique du Sud sur les traces du grand-père pour tenter de dépasser un ancien traumatisme familial. Dans leur quête, iels vont être confronté·e·s à la violence de leur héritage, en lien avec le travail du grand-père suisse dans les plantations de cacao. C’est dans le huis-clos de leur chambre d’hôtel que se révèle l’ambiguïté de leur relation, ouvrant la brèche d’un récit hallucinatoire. Peu à peu, ce trip-movie générationnel se transforme en conte psycho-magique, traversé de personnages intrigants et d’apparitions fantastiques. Un voyage fictionnel sensible qui résonne avec nos histoires intimes, notre conscience collective et l’évocation de la colonisation du continent sud-américain.
