A psychopath known as "Buffalo Bill" is terrorising the Midwest, kidnapping and murdering young women. Clarice Starling, a young FBI agent, is tasked with interviewing the former psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter. A dangerously intelligent psychopath with a penchant for cannibalism, Lecter can provide key insights into Buffalo Bill as well as his psychological profile. However, he agrees to help only in exchange for personal details about the young woman's private life. Between them, a complex relationship of fascination and repulsion begins to form.

Un psychopathe connu sous le nom de Buffalo Bill sème la terreur dans le Middle West en kidnappant et en assassinant de jeunes femmes. Clarice Starling, une jeune agent du FBI, est chargée d'interroger l'ex-psychiatre Hannibal Lecter.
