Neighbourhood walk in Les Pâquis: three places where people borrow instead of buying

A drill for the weekend, an outfit for an evening out, a camera for a project: in Les Pâquis, there's no need to head to the checkout. Behind the façades, a whole neighbourhood has got into the habit of borrowing, swapping and reusing.
On an early-evening walk, step inside three places that bring this idea to life every day. At the Bureau culturel, local artists find cameras, microphones and design software for their projects. At Histoire sans chute, clothes and fabrics get a second life. At La Manivelle, a library of things lends out everyday equipment.
Along the way, your guide points out the historic landmarks of Les Pâquis, the ones people pass every day without noticing. The evening ends with an aperitif in the neighbourhood.

Une perceuse pour un week-end, une tenue pour une soirée, une caméra pour un projet : aux Pâquis, pas besoin de passer à la caisse. Derrière les façades, tout un quartier a pris l'habitude d'emprunter, d'échanger et de réutiliser.
Le temps d'une balade en fin de journée, poussez la porte de trois adresses qui font vivre cette idée au quotidien. Au Bureau culturel, les artistes du quartier trouvent caméras, micros et logiciels graphiques pour réaliser leurs projets. Chez Histoire sans chute, les vêtements et les tissus trouvent une seconde vie. À La Manivelle, une bibliothèque d'objets met à disposition le matériel du quotidien.
En chemin, la guide vous montre les repères historiques des Pâquis, ceux que l'on croise chaque jour sans les remarquer. La soirée se termine autour d'un apéritif, dans le quartier.
