Blackout Songs by the Théâtre du Prisme

Blackout Songs by the Théâtre du Prisme
The couple in the center of Blackout Songs looks like the one you might see on a night bus, noisy and turbulent. Listening to their strange conversation, it is at first like listening to a conversation of drunk people: not very interesting when you are sober.
But as we listen to their conversations and role plays, we hear tenderness, intensity and cries of pain underlying them. It is a drama about love in the grip of addiction. This couple grows within us and also gains depth.
Blackout Songs deals with addiction: the couple’s compulsion to continue drinking is associated with creativity for him and a rebellion against «normality» for her.
It is a courageous and original writing, hard and without sentimentalism. A funny romantic tragedy that becomes compulsive to watch.
Creation: it’s the first at La Ferme d'en Haut!
