Founded at the end of the 17th century in Sainte Marie, the former Sucrerie La Salle used to produce pure sugar cane juice used for the distillation of tafia, ancestor of rum.

Founded at the end of the 17th century in Sainte Marie, the former Sucrerie La Salle used to produce pure sugar cane juice used for the distillation of tafia, ancestor of rum.
Its restoration and its opening to the public are intended to better publicize the epic of sugar and Agricultural Rum of Martinique.
You will be able to discover the furnace of the boilers and its chimney, the two working windmills, the sugar loaves, the guildiverie, the stills and the aging cellars, all this in a magnificent tropical garden that you can reach either directly or by taking the plantation train from the Rum Museum

Fondata alla fine del XVII secolo a Sainte Marie, l'ex Sucrerie La Salle elaborava un tempo il puro succo di canna da zucchero utilizzato per la distillazione della tafia, antenata del rum.
Il suo restauro e la sua apertura al pubblico hanno come obiettivo quello di far conoscere meglio l'epopea dello zucchero e del Rum Agricolo della Martinica.
Potrete scoprire il focolare delle caldaie e il suo camino, i due mulini a pale in funzione, i pani di zucchero, la guildiverie, gli alambicchi e le cantine d'invecchiamento, tutto questo in un bellissimo giardino tropicale che si può raggiungere sia direttamente o prendendo il treno delle piantagioni dal Museo del Rum

Exposition photographique et rencontre autour du patrimoine industriel
L'habitation La salle, sucrerie du XVIIe, propose une exposition photographique retraçant l'histoire du patrimoine industriel sucrier et rhumier de la Martinique.
En écho à cette exposition, l'historien Luc Lerandy anime une causerie-débat intitulée « De Saint-Pierre à l'Usine centrale de Sainte-Marie », retraçant le déplacement de l'activité sucrière et rhumière du Nord Caraïbe vers Sainte-Marie après l'éruption de la Montagne Pelée.
Intervenant : Luc Lerandy, historien, auteur du fil de l'histoire illustré par l'exposition photo (@Luc Lerandy et @Béatrice Bolo)

Su restauración y apertura al público tienen como objetivo dar a conocer mejor la epopeya del azúcar y el ron agrícola de Martinica.
Usted puede descubrir el hogar de las calderas y su chimenea, los dos molinos de álabes en funcionamiento, los panes de azúcar, guildiverie, alambiques y bodegas de envejecimiento, todo ello en un magnífico jardín tropical al que se puede llegar directamente o tomando el tren de las plantaciones partiendo del Museo del Ron
