Die ehemalige Militärkaserne Mellinet im Herzen von Nantes befindet sich derzeit in einem Umbau. Dieser geschichtsträchtige Ort ist Gegenstand eines umfangreichen städtischen Erneuerungsprojekts, das die Sanierung des bestehenden Gebäudes, die Schaffung neuer Nutzungen und die Beteiligung der Bewohner an der Fabrik des Viertels miteinander verbindet.
Anlässlich der Europäischen Tage des Kulturerbes 2026 bietet Ihnen Nantes Métropole Aménagement die Möglichkeit, das Gelände bei einem kommentierten Spaziergang in Begleitung der Landschaftsplaner von TGTFP und der Werkstatt Georges zu erkunden. Der Besuch lädt dazu ein, die bereits sanierten Gebäude zu entdecken: das Générale, das Projekthaus, das dem Viertel zugewandt ist, das B19 und die Kleinen Ställe, die zu einem Zentrum für die Feuerkunst und Handwerkskunst umgestaltet wurden. Sie zeigt auch den Fortschritt der Baustelle der zukünftigen Kulturbrachstätte.
Im Laufe des Prozesses teilen die Referenten die gewählten Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten, die gemeinsam mit den Bewohnern entwickelten Nutzungen und die besonderen Herausforderungen bei der Umwandlung eines ehemaligen Militärstandorts in ein neues Stück Stadt. Eine konkrete Gelegenheit, zu verstehen, wie ein städtisches Projekt von der Erinnerung an den Ort bis zu seiner Neuerfindung entsteht.

Former military site in the heart of Nantes, the Caserne Mellinet is now undergoing a transformation. This site steeped in history is the subject of a vast urban renewal project that combines the rehabilitation of existing buildings, the creation of new uses and the involvement of residents in the neighborhood’s fabric.
On the occasion of the 2026 European Heritage Days, Nantes Métropole Aménagement invites you to explore the site during a guided tour, in the company of the landscape planners from TGTFP and the Georges workshop. The visit invites you to discover the buildings already rehabilitated: la Générale, the project house open to the neighborhood, the B19 and the Petites Écuries, converted into a center dedicated to the arts of fire and doing. It also shows the progress of the construction of the future cultural wasteland.
Along the way, the speakers share the development choices made, the uses co-constructed with the inhabitants, and the issues specific to the transformation of an old military site into a new piece of city. A concrete opportunity to understand how an urban project is made, from the memory of the place to its reinvention.

Ex sito militare nel cuore di Nantes, la caserma Mellinet è oggi in piena trasformazione. Questo sito carico di storia è oggetto di un vasto progetto di rinnovamento urbano che coniuga la riabilitazione dell'edificio esistente, la creazione di nuovi usi e il coinvolgimento degli abitanti nella fabbrica del quartiere.
In occasione delle Giornate europee del patrimonio 2026, Nantes Métropole Aménagement vi propone di percorrere il sito durante una passeggiata commentata, in compagnia degli urbanisti-paesaggisti della TGTFP e dello studio Georges. La visita invita a scoprire gli edifici già ristrutturati: la Generale, casa del progetto aperta sul quartiere, il B19 e le Piccole Scuderie, riconvertite in un polo dedicato alle arti del fuoco e del fare. Mostra anche l'avanzamento del cantiere della futura area culturale desolata.
Nel corso del percorso, gli intervenienti condividono le scelte di sviluppo adottate, gli usi co-costruiti con i residenti e le sfide specifiche legate alla trasformazione di un vecchio sito militare in un nuovo pezzo di città. Un'occasione concreta per capire come si costruisce un progetto urbano, dalla memoria del luogo alla sua reinvenzione.

À l'occasion des Journées européennes du patrimoine 2026, Nantes Métropole Aménagement vous propose de parcourir le site lors d'une déambulation commentée, en compagnie des urbanistes-paysagistes de TGTFP et de l'atelier Georges. La visite invite à découvrir les bâtiments déjà réhabilités : la Générale, maison du projet ouverte sur le quartier, le B19 et les Petites Écuries, reconverties en pôle dédié aux arts du feu et du faire. Este sitio lleno de historia es objeto de un vasto proyecto de renovación urbana que combina la rehabilitación del edificio existente, la creación de nuevos usos y la participación de los habitantes en la fábrica del barrio.
Con motivo de las Jornadas Europeas del Patrimonio 2026, Nantes Métropole Aménagement le propone recorrer el sitio durante un paseo comentado, en compañía de los planificadores-paisajistas de TGTFP y del taller Georges. La visita invita a descubrir los edificios ya rehabilitados: la Générale, casa del proyecto abierta al barrio, el B19 y las Petites Écuries, reconvertidos en un polo dedicado a las artes del fuego y del hacer. También muestra el avance de la obra de la futura frida cultural.
A lo largo del recorrido, los participantes comparten las opciones de desarrollo elegidas, los usos coconstruidos con los habitantes y los desafíos propios de la transformación de un antiguo sitio militar en una nueva parte de la ciudad.
