Classy, primal and sensual, the sound of Grand Raspail x The Marquee blends old‑school melodies, twisted guitars, groovy sub‑bass, remixed vocals and searing drums.
Grand Raspail’s voice in English, French or Arabic brings soul and poetry, drawing on 60s, 70s influences (psychedelia, sensuality, protest) while embracing a contemporary tone (irony, nonchalance).
The Marquee’s drumming lays down a virtuoso, hypnotic groove with a distinctly urban, seventies feel. Together, the duo roams freely across a vibrant, generous musical landscape, a true old‑school feast.
On stage, the atmosphere recalls an underground basement show, mixing fever, elegance and Tarantino‑esque energy. An irresistible trance.
Even Jon Spencer couldn’t resist: “what a sound !!!!”
And yet… there are only two of them.

Même Jon Spencer s’enthousiasme : « what a sound !!!! »
Et pourtant… ils ne sont que deux.
