Von der Fotografie zum gedruckten Werk
Geboren in Caen am 15. Januar 1845 in einer Kaufmannsfamilie, wird Henri Magron Jurastudium studieren und Direktor der Wohltätigkeitsbüros der Krankenhäuser von Caen.
Schon in jungen Jahren bei der Société des Beaux-arts de Caen, deren Mitglied sein Vater war, lernte er die normannischen Fotografen seiner Zeit kennen. Als er 1892 mit Freunden die Société Caennaise de Photographie gründete, hatte er bereits eine bedeutende Sammlung von Fotografien zusammengestellt. Sein Interesse gilt auch der Illustration des Buches durch die Fotografie.
Letzterer Aspekt erregt die Aufmerksamkeit, da er der erste in Frankreich ist, der einen literarischen Text, L'Elixir du Révérend Père Gaucher von Alphonse Daudet, mit einer Fotografie illustriert hat und ihn 1889 veröffentlichen ließ. Weitere Titel werden folgen. Parallel dazu wird er eine entscheidende Rolle in La Normandie Monumentale et Pittoresque des Éditions Lemale du Havre spielen.
Die Ausstellung wird ihre Aufnahmen des architektonischen Erbes in den drei niederfranzösischen Departements Calvados, Manche und Orne zeigen. Ein bemerkenswertes Ensemble wird auch im Zusammenhang mit dem normannischen Wunder vorgestellt: Le Mont-Saint-Michel.
Die verschiedenen Phasen für die Schaffung der Werke werden dem Publikum gezeigt: Glasplatte, Negativaufnahmen, albuminierte positive Ausdrucke, Heliogravuren, Kunstwerke.

From photography to printed work
Born in Caen on 15 January 1845 into a merchant family, Henri Magron studied law and became director of the charitable offices of Caen hospitals.
At a young age, at the Société des Beaux-arts de Caen where his father is a member, he meets the Norman photographers of his time. When he founded, with friends, the Société Caennaise de Photographie in 1892, he had already built up an important collection of photographs. His interest is also turned towards the illustration of the book by photography.
It is this last aspect that attracts attention since it is the first in France to illustrate by photography a literary text, L'Elixir du Révérend Père Gaucher by Alphonse Daudet, and to have it published in 1889. Other titles will follow. At the same time, he will play a key role in La Normandie Monumentale et Pittoresque by Lemale du Havre.
The exhibition will highlight its views of the architectural heritage on the three departments of Basse-Normandie: Le Calvados, the Manche and the Orne. A remarkable ensemble will also be presented concerning the Norman wonder: Le Mont-Saint-Michel.
The different stages for the creation of the works will be exposed to the public: plate glass negatives of shooting, albuminées positive proofs, prints in heliogravures, works in imitation engraving.

Molto giovane, alla Société des Beaux-arts di Caen, di cui suo padre è membro, incontra i fotografi normanni del suo tempo. Quando fonda, con degli amici, la Société Caennaise de Photographie, nel 1892, ha già costituito un'importante collezione di fotografie. Il suo interesse è rivolto anche verso l'illustrazione del libro attraverso la fotografia.
È quest'ultimo aspetto che attira l'attenzione poiché è il primo in Francia ad illustrare con la fotografia un testo letterario, L'Elixir du Révérend Père Gaucher di Alphonse Daudet, e a farlo pubblicare nel 1889. Altri titoli seguiranno. Parallelamente, avrà un ruolo determinante in La Normandie monumentale et pittoresque delle edizioni Lemale du Havre.
La mostra metterà in evidenza le sue riprese del patrimonio architettonico sui tre dipartimenti della Bassa Normandia: il Calvados, la Manica e l'Orne. Un insieme notevole sarà presentato anche per quanto riguarda la meraviglia normanna: Le Mont-Saint-Michel.
Le diverse fasi per la creazione delle opere saranno esposte al pubblico: lastra di vetro negativi di ripresa, prove positive albuminate, stampe in rotocalco, lavori in similincisione.

Né à Caen le 15 janvier 1845 dans une famille de commerçants, Henri Magron suivra des études de droit et deviendra directeur des bureaux de bienfaisance des hôpitaux de Caen.
Très jeune, à la Société des Beaux-arts de Caen dont son père est membre, il rencontre les photographes normands de son temps. Lorsqu’il fonde, avec des amis, la Société Caennaise de Photographie, en 1892, il a déjà constitué une importante collection de clichés. Son intérêt est aussi tourné vers l’illustration du livre par la photographie.
C’est ce dernier aspect qui retient l’attention puisqu’il est le premier en France à illustrer par la photographie un texte littéraire, L’Elixir du Révérend Père Gaucher d’Alphonse Daudet, et à le faire éditer en 1889. D’autres titres suivront. Parallèlement, il aura un rôle déterminant dans La Normandie Monumentale et Pittoresque des éditions Lemale du Havre.
L’exposition mettra en valeur ses prises de vues du patrimoine architectural sur les trois départements bas-normand ; Le Calvados, la Manche et l’Orne. Un ensemble remarquable sera aussi présenté concernant la merveille normande : Le Mont-Saint-Michel.

Su interés se centra también en la ilustración del libro a través de la fotografía.

La exposición pondrá de relieve sus tomas del patrimonio arquitectónico en los tres departamentos bajo-normandos; El Calvados, la Mancha y el Orne. También se presentará un conjunto notable relacionado con la maravilla normanda: Le Mont-Saint-Michel.
Las diferentes etapas para la creación de las obras serán expuestas al público: placa de vidrio negativos de toma, pruebas positivas albuminadas, impresiones en heliograbado, obras en imitación grabado.
