Im Rahmen des Zweihundertjahrs der Fotografie wird die Galerie Rouge Édouard Boubat, einen der bedeutendsten Vertreter der humanistischen französischen Fotografie der Nachkriegszeit, in den Mittelpunkt stellen. Die Ausstellung zeigt ausschließlich Fotografien, die während seiner Reisen in den USA von 1953 bis 1986 entstanden sind. Zwischen Reportage, dokumentarischer und sozialer Fotografie und humanistischem Werk bietet diese Ausstellung eine Neuinterpretation der Arbeit von Edouard Boubat.
Seine Fotografien der USA zeigen einen engagierten Fotografen, der sich mit den Problemen seiner Zeit auseinandersetzte und die Ungerechtigkeiten und Widersprüche der amerikanischen Gesellschaft mit Menschlichkeit und Poesie zu erfassen suchte.
Eine Auswahl von etwa dreißig zeitgenössischen silbernen Drucke sowie der Zugang zu unveröffentlichten Archiven (Kontakttafeln, Korrespondenzen, Reisetagebücher) ermöglichen es, diesen wenig bekannten Aspekt seines Werkes zu erfassen.

As part of the Bicentenary of Photography, La Galerie Rouge will highlight Édouard Boubat, one of the greatest representatives of post-war French humanist photography. The exhibition will exclusively present photographs taken during his travels in the United States from 1953 to 1986. Between reportage, documentary and social photography and humanist work, this exhibition offers a rereading of the work of Edouard Boubat.
His photographs of the United States indeed reveal a committed photographer, in touch with the issues of his time and who sought to capture with humanity and poetry the injustices and contradictions of American society.
A selection of thirty vintage film prints, as well as access to unpublished archives (contact sheets, correspondence, travel journals) will allow us to grasp this little-known aspect of his work.

Nell'ambito del Bicentenario della Fotografia, la Galerie Rouge metterà in luce Édouard Boubat, uno dei più grandi rappresentanti della fotografia umanistica francese del dopoguerra. L'esposizione presenterà esclusivamente fotografie scattate durante i suoi viaggi negli Stati Uniti dal 1953 al 1986. Tra reportage, fotografia documentaria e sociale e opera umanistica, questa mostra propone una rilettura del lavoro di Edouard Boubat.
Le sue fotografie degli Stati Uniti rivelano infatti un fotografo impegnato, attento alle problematiche del suo tempo e che ha cercato di cogliere con umanità e poesia le ingiustizie e le contraddizioni della società americana.
Una selezione di una trentina di stampe argentiche d'epoca, così come l'accesso ad archivi inediti (fogli-contatti, corrispondenza, taccuini di viaggio) permetteranno di cogliere questo aspetto poco conosciuto della sua opera.

Dans le cadre du Bicentenaire de la Photographie, La Galerie Rouge mettra en en lumière Édouard Boubat, un des plus grands représentants de la photographie humaniste française d’après-guerre. L’exposition présentera exclusivement des photographies prises pendant ses voyages aux États-Unis de 1953 à 1986. Entre reportage, photographie documentaire et sociale et œuvre humaniste, cette exposition propose une relecture du travail d’Edouard Boubat.
Ses photographies des États-Unis révèlent en effet un photographe engagé, en prise avec les problématiques de son époque et qui a cherché à saisir avec humanité et poésie les injustices et les contradictions de la société américaine.
Une sélection d’une trentaine de tirages argentiques d’époque, ainsi que l’accès à des archives inédites (planches-contacts, correspondances, carnets de voyages) permettront de saisir cet aspect méconnu de son œuvre.

Sus fotografías de los Estados Unidos revelan a un fotógrafo comprometido, en contacto con las problemáticas de su época y que buscó captar con humanidad y poesía las injusticias y contradicciones de la sociedad americana.
