In a vibrant production combining music, theater, and dance, *“Blades of Joy”* tells the story of a griot and his balafon, guardians of a people's memory. From the origins and sacred creation of the instrument to the arrival of the first colonists, this show reveals the power of stories and melodies in Sambla culture: mediating, educational, rebellious, and unifying.
Written and conceived by Gofefo Konaté, himself a griot, this stage project, rooted in the oral tradition of the Sambla people of Burkina Faso, creates a dialogue between past and present, traversing colonization, social change, and modernity.
Between songs of praise, ancestral wisdom, and contemporary resonance, the griot becomes the living echo of a heritage that is endangered but still standing. A visual and auditory tribute to African cultural resilience.

Dans une mise en scène vibrante mêlant musique, théâtre et danse, *"Lames de Joie"* raconte l’histoire d’un griot et de son balafon, gardiens de la mémoire d’un peuple. Depuis l’origine et la fabrication sacrée de l’instrument jusqu’à l’arrivée des premiers colons, ce spectacle dévoile la puissance des récits et des mélodies dans la culture Sambla : médiatrice, éducative, contestataire et unificatrice.
Ecrit et conçu par Gofefo Konaté, lui même griot, ce projet scénique, ancré dans la tradition orale des Sambla du Burkina Faso, fait dialoguer passé et présent, en traversant la colonisation, les métamorphoses sociales et la modernité.
Entre chants d’éloge, sagesse ancestrale et résonance contemporaine, le griot devient l’écho vivant d’un patrimoine en danger, mais toujours debout. Un hommage visuel et sonore à la résilience culturelle africaine
