From May 23 to July 12, 2026, the Museum of the Château de Flers is hosting a new exhibition that offers a contemporary vision of four artisanal techniques: wood and straw marquetry, copperware and wire sculpture.
The exhibition presents works by four regional artists who have reappropriated these artisanal techniques to create contemporary works of art. Whether it is the wood marquetry by Jean Baptiste Carlot, the Dinanderie by Didier Delitte, the Anne-Marie Choain’s straw marquetry or else Séverine Sagot with her wire sculptures, their works have in common the finesse of execution and the mastery of the gesture.
An exhibition at children’s level
Finds Filou, the iron wire in the museum rooms and help him find answers to his questions!
The museum also makes available manipulable installations to discover the different materials and the steps taken by artists to create their works.
You can even to try wire sculpture in a dedicated area.
Workshops and internships
Every second Sunday of the month, the museum offers a plastic arts workshop or an artisan demonstration.. Activities related to the exhibition, free and accessible to all and without reservation.
During the school holidays the museum also organizes courses for children and adults in connection with the exhibition to learn new skills and initiate oneself into artistic practices.

Du 23 mai au 12 juillet 2026, le Musée du Château de Flers propose une nouvelle exposition qui offre une vision contemporaine de quatre techniques artisanales : la marqueterie de bois et de paille, la dinanderie et la sculpture en fil de fer.
L’exposition présente des œuvres de quatre artistes régionaux qui se sont réappropriés ces techniques artisanales pour réaliser des œuvres d’art contemporain. Que ce soit la marqueterie de bois de Jean Baptiste Carlot, la dinanderie de Didier Delitte, la marqueterie de paille de Anne-Marie Choain ou encore Séverine Sagot avec ses sculptures en fil de fer, leurs œuvres ont en commun la finesse de l’exécution et la maîtrise du geste.
Une exposition à hauteur d'enfants
Retrouve Filou, le fil de fer dans les salles du musée et aide-le à trouver les réponses à ses questions!
Le musée met aussi à disposition des installations manipulables pour découvrir les différents matériaux et les étapes suivies par les artistes pour créer leurs œuvres.
Vous pourrez même vous essayer à la sculpture en fil de fer dans un espace dédié.
Ateliers et stages
Chaque 2ème dimanche du mois, le musée propose un atelier d’arts plastique ou une démonstration d’artisan. Des activités en lien avec l’exposition, gratuites et accessibles à tous et sans réservation.
Pendant les vacances scolaires le musée organise aussi des stages pour enfants et adultes en lien avec l’exposition pour apprendre de nouveaux savoir-faire et s’initier à des pratiques artistiques.

Van 23 mei tot 12 juli 2026 biedt het Flers Castle Museum een nieuwe tentoonstelling met een hedendaagse visie op vier ambachtelijke technieken: Hout en stro marquetrie, dinanderie en staalsculptuur.
De tentoonstelling presenteert werken van vier regionale kunstenaars die deze ambachtelijke technieken hebben overgenomen om hedendaagse kunstwerken te maken Laat het de zijn Wood Marquetry van Jean Baptiste Carlot , la Dinanderie door Didier Delitte , la Stromarquetry van Anne-Marie Choain of anders Séverine Sagot met haar staalsculpturen , hun werken hebben gemeen de finesse van executie en de beheersing van gebaren.
Een tentoonstelling op het hoogtepunt van kinderen
Vind het Filou, de draad in de kamers van het museum en help hem de antwoorden op zijn vragen te vinden!
Het museum biedt ook aanpasbare installaties om de verschillende materialen te ontdekken en de stappen die de kunstenaars zetten om hun werken te maken.
Je kunt zelfs jezelf probeer draadsculptuur in een speciale ruimte.
Workshops en stages
Elke 2e zondag van de maand biedt het museum een kunstacademie of een ambachtelijke demonstratie . Activiteiten met betrekking tot de tentoonstelling, gratis en toegankelijk voor iedereen en zonder reservering.
Tijdens schoolvakanties het museum organiseert ook cursussen voor kinderen en volwassenen in verband met de tentoonstelling om nieuwe knowhow te leren en artistieke praktijken te leren.
