Somewhere between a fanzine and an artist’s book, Short Ass Attention Span collects texts of varying lengths and gives carte blanche to artists, writers, and other invited individuals—regardless of their status within the art world and whether they are known or recognized. The publication brings together self-taught creators with academics and offers a mix of apocalyptic literature, hopeful reflections, political essays on sexuality, pithy turns of phrase, and rambling paragraphs, risqué contemporary autofiction, and poetry: you name it.
Each issue explores the diversity of contemporary voices and forms of expression. Writing becomes a space for free experimentation, supported by attentive editorial guidance and innovative design.
Ethan Assouline and Gaia Vincensini were invited to collaborate with Pauline Coquart on the present edition, selecting authors and shaping the publications’s distinctive visual and editorial content.

À la croisée du fanzine et du livre d’artiste, Short Ass Attention Span est une collection de textes de longueurs variables, conçue comme une série de cartes blanches confiées à des artistes, auteur·ices ou, plus largement, à toute personne invitée. Peu importe sa place dans la pyramide de l’art, ou qu’elle soit — ou non — connue et reconnue pour ses écrits. L’édition mêle ensemble autodidactes et académico-people, littératures type fin du monde, réflexions pleines d’espoir, essais politiques sur la sexualité, sens de la formule efficace et paragraphes étoffés, auto-fictions contemporaines licencieuses ou poèmes : you name it.
Chaque numéro explore la pluralité des voix et des formes d’expression contemporaines. L’écriture y devient un espace d’expérimentation libre, soutenu par un accompagnement attentif et une mise en page pensée texte par texte.
Pour cette nouvelle édition, Ethan Assouline et Gaia Vincensini sont invités à collaborer avec Pauline Coquart à la conception de l’édition, au casting d’auteur·ice·s ainsi qu’à la création d’œuvres.
