The fantastic Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO), made up of 15 of the finest soloists and ensembles in jazz, has been the resident orchestra at Jazz at Lincoln Center in NYC since 1988 and spends over a third of the year touring the world. The long-time conductor and musical director is the virtuoso trumpeter and nine-time Grammy Award winner Wynton Marsalis, arguably the most influential jazz musician of the moment and the only musician to have won the award in two different categories – jazz and classical – in the space of one year (1983-1984). Five years after their sold-out concert at the Victoria Hall, this great big band is back to prove once again that jazz is an expression of joie de vivre and mutual respect. Le fantastique Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO), composé de 15 des meilleurs solistes et ensembles de jazz, est l’orchestre attitré du Jazz at Lincoln Center à NYC depuis 1988 et passe plus d’un tiers de l’année en tournées dans le monde entier. Le chef et directeur musical de longue date n’est autre que le trompettiste virtuose et lauréat de neuf Grammy Awards Wynton Marsalis, sans doute le jazzman le plus influent du moment et le seul musicien à avoir remporté ce prix dans deux catégories différentes – jazz et classique – en l’espace d’un an (1983-1984). Cinq ans après son concert à guichets fermés au Victoria Hall, ce grand big band est de retour et prouvera une fois de plus que le jazz est l’expression de la joie de vivre et du respect mutuel.
