Science at the Negotiating Table: Scientific Diplomacy in the Face of Global Climate Challenges.
Step into the role of a member of a diplomatic delegation and experience the dynamics of real-world negotiations: How can scientific knowledge and data be transformed into policy decisions while taking into account economic, social, environmental, and geopolitical interests?
The 6 delegations:
- - Countries most vulnerable to climate change: adaptation, loss and damage, climate justice.
- - Major economies and major emitters: emissions reduction, energy transition, and economic constraints.
- - The scientific community: data, climate scenarios, and scientific recommendations.
- - Finance and the private sector: climate finance, innovation, and technology transfer.
- - Civil society, youth, and Indigenous peoples: climate justice, participation, and future generations.
- - COP 31 Presidency: mediation, seeking compromise, and drafting the final agreement.
