Cécile will defend her thesis by presenting her research on conflicts of interest in medical research, focusing on how they are understood and managed across the different actors involved in the production and use of medical evidence. Using a qualitative approach, she triangulates the perspectives of researchers, journal editors, and general practitioners (the end users of medical research) to provide a comprehensive understanding of how conflicts of interest are perceived, negotiated, and addressed throughout the research-to-practice continuum. By comparing these complementary viewpoints, her work identifies areas of convergence and divergence, offering insights into how conflicts of interest shape trust in medical evidence and informing strategies to strengthen research integrity and evidence-based clinical practice.
