Conference 'Learning to Get Acquainted with Technological Objects' by Matthieu Raffard
In this conference, Matthieu Raffard will present the research methodology they have developed to get in touch with the multidimensional materiality of technological objects.
Mercredi 25 novembre, 16h00
Conditions
En accès libre.
DR - Le Fresnoy
In this lecture, Matthieu Raffard, a member of the duo Raffard-Roussel, will present the investigative methodology they developed to engage with the multidimensional materiality of technological objects. Following on from their book À contre-emploi, published by Premier Parallèle, the artist will present a series of practical and fictional activities that lie halfway between research operation and artistic gesture.
Thus, we will learn how magnet fishing can help us better understand the profound materiality of electric scooters, how creating a functional model can help us grasp the beginnings of electronic computation, and how the furious destruction of a printer can encourage us to reconsider the emotional bonds we form with this kind of machine.
