Ein Spaziergang durch das Abteiviertel von Grenoble bedeutet, einen einzigartigen Teil der Geschichte von Grenoble zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts zu erkunden; es bedeutet, die ersten Erweiterungen südlich der alten Befestigungsanlagen zu entdecken, eine Geschichte des Arbeiterwohnungsbaus und der städtischen Aktionen, die vom Bürgermeister Paul Mistral initiiert wurden, aber auch eine Sozialgeschichte, «Das Erbe hier sind wir», sagen die ehemaligen Bewohner des Viertels. Es bedeutet auch zu verstehen, wie sich die Gebäude an neue Verwendungszwecke anpassen konnten, Wie heute die Übergangsurbanisierung organisiert ist oder wie die Wiederverwendung von Materialien eine Herausforderung sowohl für die Renovierung der Cité de l'Abbaye als auch für die Umwandlung ihrer öffentlichen Räume ist.
In Begleitung einer Architekturhistorikerin werden wir die Entwicklung des Viertels entdecken und einige seiner bemerkenswerten Gebäude besuchen: die Bibliothek der Abtei Les-Bains, die armenische Apostolische Kirche Erzengel St. PeterGabriel, das Haus der Bewohner und vor allem die Stadt der Abtei, Wohnen in Bon Marché (HBM) mit dem Label "Bemerkenswerte zeitgenössische Architektur". Der Spaziergang wird von verschiedenen Begegnungen von Menschen in der Nachbarschaft und der Vorführung von kurzen Filmen unterbrochen, die die Stadt zu verschiedenen Zeiten bis zu den aktuellen Veränderungen zeigen. Sie wird mit einem Drink in der Hand mit einer Diskussion über die Herausforderungen des laufenden Projekts und die Logik der Wiederverwendung bei der Arbeit enden.

Strolling through the Abbey district in Grenoble is a unique part of the history of Grenoble at the beginning of the 20th century; it is to discover the first extensions to the south of the old fortifications, a history of working-class housing and municipal actions initiated by Mayor Paul Mistral, but also a social history, “The heritage here is us,” say the former residents of the neighbourhood. It is also about understanding how buildings have adapted to new uses, how transitional urban planning is organized today or how the reuse of materials is an issue both for the renovation of the City of the Abbey and for the transformation of its public spaces.
Together with an architectural historian, we will discover how the area has evolved and we will visit some of its remarkable buildings: the library of the Abbey-Les-Bains, the Armenian Apostolic Church Archangel Saint-Gabriel, the Maison des Habitant.e.s and especially the Cité de l'Abbaye, Habitation à Bon Marché (HBM) labeled "Remarkable contemporary architecture". The walk will be punctuated by various meetings of people invested in the neighborhood and the projection of short films showing the City at different times until the current transformations. It will end, a glass in hand, with a discussion on the issues of the current project and the logic of re-employment in the workplace.

Passeggiare nel quartiere dell'Abbazia a Grenoble, significa percorrere una parte singolare della storia di Grenoble all'inizio del XX secolo; significa scoprire le prime estensioni a sud delle antiche fortificazioni, una storia della casa operaia e delle azioni municipali avviate dal sindaco Paul Mistral, ma anche una storia sociale, «Il patrimonio qui siamo noi», dicono gli antichi abitanti del quartiere. Significa anche capire come gli edifici si sono adattati a nuovi usi, come oggi si organizza l'urbanistica transitoria o ancora come il riutilizzo dei materiali sia una sfida sia per il rinnovamento della Cité del'Abbaye che per la trasformazione dei suoi spazi pubblici.
In compagnia di una storica dell'architettura, scopriremo come si è evoluto il quartiere e visiteremo alcuni dei suoi edifici notevoli: la biblioteca dell'Abbazia-Les-Bains, la chiesa Apostolica Armena Arcangelo Saint-BainsGabriel, la Maison des Habitant.e.s e soprattutto la Cité del'Abbaye, Habitation à Bon Marché (HBM) etichettata "Architettura contemporanea notevole". La passeggiata sarà punteggiata da diversi incontri di persone investite nel quartiere e dalla proiezione di brevi film che mostrano la città in epoche diverse fino alle trasformazioni attuali. Essa si concluderà con un drink alla mano, con una discussione sulle poste in gioco del progetto in corso e sulle logiche di riutilizzo al lavoro.

Se promener dans le quartier de l’Abbaye à Grenoble, c’est arpenter une part singulière de l’histoire de Grenoble au début du 20e siècle ; c'est découvrir les premières extensions au sud des anciennes fortifications, une histoire du logement ouvrier et des actions municipales initiées par le maire Paul Mistral, mais aussi une histoire sociale, « Le patrimoine ici c’est nous », disent les anciens habitants du quartier. C’est aussi comprendre comment les bâtiments ont su s'adapter à de nouveaux usages, comment aujourd’hui s’organise l’urbanisme transitoire ou encore comment le réemploi des matériaux est un enjeu tant pour la rénovation de la Cité de l’Abbaye que pour la transformation de ses espaces publics.
En compagnie d’une historienne de l’architecture, nous découvrirons comment a évolué le quartier et nous visiterons quelques-uns de ses bâtiments remarquables : la bibliothèque de l’Abbaye-Les-Bains, l’église Apostolique Arménienne Archange Saint-Gabriel, la Maison des Habitant.e.s et surtout la Cité de l’Abbaye, Habitation à Bon Marché (HBM) labellisée "Architecture contemporaine remarquable". La promenade sera ponctuée de différentes rencontres de personnes investies dans le quartier et de la projection de courts films montrant la Cité à différentes époques jusqu’aux transformations actuelles. Elle se terminera, un verre à la main, par une discussion sur les enjeux du projet en cours et les logiques de réemploi à l’œuvre.

Pasear por el barrio de la Abadía en Grenoble, es recorrer una parte singular de la historia de Grenoble a principios del siglo XX; es descubrir las primeras extensiones al sur de las antiguas fortificaciones, una historia de la vivienda obrera y de las acciones municipales iniciadas por el alcalde Paul Mistral, pero también una historia social, «El patrimonio aquí somos nosotros», dicen los antiguos habitantes del barrio. También es comprender cómo los edificios han sabido adaptarse a nuevos usos, cómo se organiza hoy el urbanismo transitorio o cómo la reutilización de los materiales es un reto tanto para la renovación de la Ciudad de la Abadía como para la transformación de sus espacios públicos.
En compañía de una historiadora de la arquitectura, descubriremos cómo ha evolucionado el barrio y visitaremos algunos de sus edificios notables: la biblioteca de la Abadía-Les-Bains, la Iglesia Apostólica Armenia Arcángel SantoGabriel, la Casa de los Habitantes y sobre todo la Ciudad de la Abadía, Vivienda en Bon Marché (HBM) etiquetada "Arquitectura contemporánea notable". El paseo estará marcado por varios encuentros de personas involucradas en el barrio y por la proyección de cortometrajes que muestran la ciudad en diferentes épocas hasta las transformaciones actuales. Terminará con una copa en la mano, con una discusión sobre los retos del proyecto en curso y las lógicas de reutilización en el trabajo.
