Unter dem Römischen Reich gab es eine große, bedeutende religiöse Stadt mit rund 20'000 Einwohnern. Die Überreste der Basilika und des Amphitheaters zeugen von der Stadt, die von mehreren römischen Kaisern besucht wurde. Die Kirche Sainte-Libaire aus dem 15. Jahrhundert, die selbst auf einer antiken Kulturstätte erbaut wurde, ist seit 1994 als Denkmalschutz eingestuft.

Large, important religious city under the Roman Empire was populated by about 20,000 inhabitants. The remains of the basilica and the amphitheatre testify to this city which received the visit of several Roman emperors. The 15th-century Sainte-Libaire Church, built on an ancient religious site, has been listed as a Historical Monument since 1994.
