For the first time at the University, Lumen is offering you an innovative event!
"Faut qu'on parle" is inspired by My Country Talks, an initiative created in 2017 that has already brought together nearly 300,000 participants in more than 100 countries. The principle is always the same: to organise one-on-one meetings between people with opposing opinions using an algorithm that ‘matches’ two people who have answered divisive questions differently. By facilitating these unique encounters, the initiative aims to combat the growing polarisation of debate. By reinforcing the values of listening and dialogue, Faut qu'on parle seeks to rebuild the connections that are essential for building a shared future

Et si vous rencontriez quelqu’un qui ne pense pas comme vous ? Une drôle d’expérience : rencontrer en vrai une personne qui ne pense pas comme vous. Juste pour apprendre à se connaître, se comprendre et échanger une heure ou deux, sans chercher à se convaincre.

"Faut qu’on parle" s’inspire de My Country Talks, un dispositif créé en 2017 qui a déjà rassemblé près de 300.000 participants dans plus d’une centaine de pays. Le principe est toujours le même : organiser la rencontre en tête-à-tête de gens aux opinions opposées grâce à un algorithme qui “matche” deux personnes ayant répondu différemment à des questions clivantes. En permettant cette rencontre particulière, l’opération s’attache à lutter contre la polarisation croissante des débats. En renforçant les valeurs d’écoute et de dialogue, Faut qu’on parle a pour objectif de recréer les liens indispensables à la construction d’un avenir commun.
